My last set of predictions saw me get again only 4 correct results (one of which was a perfect score), this is poor, but I think it is due to so many upsets, with Chelsea, Arsenal and West Brom all losing.

This week I am going to try something new, and predict many more games but not write about each game. Instead I will have a paragraph talking about the league overall.

Barclays Premier League

8th December

Arsenal 2-1 West Brom

Aston Villa 1-1 Stoke

Southampton 2-1 Reading

Sunderland 0-1 Chelsea

Swansea 2-0 Norwich

Wigan 0-1 QPR

9th December

Man City 2-1 Man Utd

Everton 1-1 Tottenham

West Ham 1-0 Liverpool

10th December

Fulham 1-0 Newcastle

11th December

Sunderland 1-0 Reading

My predictions for the 11 Premiership games see Man City regaining the top spot in the league on goal difference. I think they have the strength to beat their rivals due to being at home, and also having the knowledge that they are out of Europe spurring them on to do well here. At the opposite end of the table Reading go further behind as they attempt to climb out of the relegation zone, due to a predicted loss away against Southampton. A big riser according to me will be Swansea, who would jump into 5th, with both Everton and West Brom not expected to win. Wigan will take the third relegation spot 5 points clear of both QPR and Reading but QPR will finally get their first win thanks to great guidance by new manager Harry Redknapp. One more thing to note is Liverpool will slip to 12th place as Fulham’s potential win would put them on 1 point more than them.

npower Championship

7th December

Blackburn 1-1 Cardiff

8th December

Derby 1-1 Leeds

Charlton 2-2 Brighton

Crystal Palace 2-1 Blackpool

Huddersfield 0-1 Bolton

Ipswich 1-2 Millwall

Leicester 3-0 Barnsley

Nottingham Forest 2-1 Burnley

Peterborough 0-1 Middlesborough

Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Bristol City

Watford 1-0 Hull

Wolves 1-0 Birmingham

Assuming my predictions will all be true Crystal Palace will switch places with Cardiff and go top of the league, Cardiff shouldn’t be too worried though as they would still hold the second automatic promotion spot by 3 points. Hull will fall out of the playoff places after coming up against a strong Watford side who haven’t lost in 7 games. Leeds United have won their last 3 games this season 2 of which were against current 2nd and 3rd place teams, however they wont manage a fourth in a row due to the resilience of a Derby side, with a pretty strong home record (won 5, drawn 4, lost 1). At the bottom of the table Bristol will climb out of the relegation zone after beating fellow strugglers Sheffield Wednesday, which will cause Barnsley to slip into the red.

Serie A TIM

8th December

Atalanta 0-0 Parma

Roma 1-2 Fiorentina

9th December

Cagliari 1-0 Chievo

Palermo 0-2 Juventus

Pescara 1-0 Genoa

Siena 1-0 Catania

Torino 1-2 AC Milan

Inter Milan 1-1 Napoli

10th December

Sampdoria 2-1 Udinese

Bologna 2-3 Lazio

Based on my predictions Fiorentina will climb above Inter Milan and take the third spot after winning their away game vs Roma which would extend their unbeaten run to 10 games. AC Milan unlike their rivals will win which will help them close the 5 point gap held by Roma to just 2 points. Sampdoria will be one of the teams coming off best this round, as many other results will go their way helping them jump from their current 12th place to 9th. At the bottom of the table, Pescara’s 4th win will see them come off bottom spot, and Siena beating Catania will lead to them coming out of the relagation in a move that takes them from 19th to 16th.

BBVA La Liga

7th December

Espanyol 0-0 Sevilla

8th December

Real Sociedad 0-1 Getafe

Malaga 2-0 Granada

Valladolid 1-1 Real Madrid

Osasuna 1-0 Valencia

9th December

Levante 2-0 Mallorca

Athletic Bilbao 2-1 Celta Vigo

Atletico Madrid 3-0 Deportivo

Real Betis 0-2 Barcelona

10th December

Rayo Vallecano 1-0 Real Zaragoza

Based on my predictions Real Madrid’s draw will be a terrible result for them as it will mean 2nd place go 7 points clear of them, and league leaders Barcelona will be 13 ahead. It would make the catch up very tough, and the pressure on Jose Mourinho would be massive. Barcelona will maintain their unbeaten season status, and would make it 8 away wins from 8. Osasuna beating favourites Valencia would see them go 5 games unbeaten and would lead to them going from 16th to 14th in the league.

If there are any specific teams out there you would also like me to predict the scores for, then just leave a comment with their name and league, and I will incorporate them into my next write up.
