I Am Error: E3 Round-up

To those of you who don’t know, E3 was on this week, and was a big time for gaming. The next generation of consoles got more publicly shown to the people, a whole heap of games got revealed or given new footage, and Sony gave Microsoft a sucker-punch right to the crotch. Seriously, I was beginning to feel bad for Microsoft by the end of the Sony conference. So, in light of all the things revealed, I thought I’d compile a list of five highlights, as well as the best moment of the show. Highlight #5: Destiny Okay, so Bungie would obviously make a good game. The developer’s next game after the Halo franchise, Destiny takes place in a much… more

State of Decay: Zombies at their Best

state of decay

State of Decay can be found on the Xbox Arcade for 1600 Microsoft Points. Yes, I’m going to go into my full review, but I feel like I can probably encapsulate it all in this sentence: get it. If you don’t feel like you want to spend any money on it, download the free trial and just have a look at it. I can guarantee, if you like zombie games, if you like survival games, if you like games with light RPG elements, and if you like games that are simply just fun, you will like State of Decay. The game thrusts you into a small rural county in America with some small towns, isolated farms and a large expanse… more

I Am Error: The Greatest Trilogy – A Look Back, Part 1

mass-effect

Note: Spoilers galore in here. If you haven’t played the games and don’t want to know what happens, probably go somewhere else. I am very well aware that this is by no means new or current, and I do not make any attempt to forget that I constantly talk about these games, however, as the final downloadable content is near to be released, it is time for me to get all nostalgic and reminisce about the games which I love so very, very much. If you have ever read a review or an article of mine, you’ll probably have heard me reference them at some point; I do it more than is good for any sane human being and I… more

I Am Error- Why are sporting games so damn popular?

Sport games are a strange mystery to me. Not because I myself am possibly the worst person in the world at physical activity- not going to lie, I believe that I could be bested at most competitive sports by one-limbed sealions fed a copious amount of weed and vodka- and not because I have a particular dislike for them- although I do have a dislike for the people who play them as though they are the sportsman within (if you can press B, X and A, that does not make you the next Lionel Messi/Koby Bryant). The reason they remain mysterious is because I do, in fact, enjoy them. A lot. Why? Partly because they make me feel as though… more

I Am Error: SWTOR goes free-to-play… sort of

SWTOR

Okay, so, if you haven’t heard yet, Star Wars: The Old Republic, BioWare’s MMORPG that started out reasonably popular, has gone free-to-play after having reportedly dropped to below one million subscribers. Now, I am not in the least bit against free-to-play MMOs. In fact, considering I don’t actually have to continuously pay out of my arse for the pleasure of playing them, I prefer them to regular MMOs. I do however object to the business model that SWTOR has decided to put in place. To take another popular free-to-play MMO, look no further than Guild Wars, which is due to get its free-to-play sequel game very soon. Guild Wars has an online purchasing system that allows you to buy appearance… more

I can’t decide whether or not I like that shading style. I’ll make up my mind at some point. Also, Sep, Fran and Amy return to the fold in glorious fashion. I felt it was time to include them again. I’m not sure about Nathan, but if someone ripped one of my comic books – if I ever own any, which I intend to – I would probably commit murder. Yes, I am that geeky. more

Nathan finally re-appears! Woo-hoo! The real-life version has been threatening harm on me if he didn’t come back into the series soon, so I slipped him in there. Also, this comic took far too long to draw. Apparently it takes only the slightest bit of heat before I stop being able to draw and lose all motor skills. Never again! more

The shading has returned. I plan to have a play around with styles of shading, because I don’t exactly like it in this one, but I was close to missing the deadline and I don’t want the TSR Death Squads hunting me down. As a side note, if you haven’t watched it, definitely catch The Walking Dead TV series. If I were you, I’d watch both seasons. It started out well, but in the second series it really hit a higher level and improved greatly. If you’re looking for a zombie-orientated show, definitely look for this one. more

My oath is broken: I failed to post last week. Woe betide me; I think I’ve been targeted by the TSR Rapid Response Death Squad for Missed Submissions. Luckily, I know some dirt on the people behind this organisation, so they can’t afford to try to have me eliminated. My life stays secure for now! Two things: Dark Knight Rises was awesome and I recommend everyone go see it, and Saints Row: The Third is possibly the craziest game I have ever played. Ever. Any game where you can beat a giant to death with a big floppy dildo-bat while wearing a gimp-suit and giant rabbit head deserves to be played by all. more

Abort, Retry, Fail? Intermission: Gee whiz

ARF 30 snippet

Suffice to say, I’m very much geared up for The Dark Knight Rises next week. Should be awesome! I would like to point out that I am not adverse to Robin myself, and I think that if Nolan were to include him in a movie it would be awesome. But not that kid who plays Joffrey. I hate that kid. more
