Saturday 11th May 2013 Aston Villa vs Chelsea (12:45) Aston Villa have completed what looks like being a great escape from relegation with two fantastic back to back wins against fellow struggling sides Norwich and Sunderland. The confidence of their young side should be sky high now, and I fully expect them to take the game to Chelsea in this the only game on Saturday. Chelsea will be looking to this game to pick up 3 points that would practically guarantee them Champions League football next season, and anything other than a win will put massive pressure on their side in their final game against high-flying Everton. Prediction: 2-2 Sunday 12th May 2013 Stoke vs Tottenham (13:30) Tottenham here have… more

Saturday 2nd March 2013 Chelsea vs West Brom (15:00) Chelsea have had a bad run in the league recently, winning only 2 of their last 6 games, with 2 losses also happening. Pressure will be on the team and manager in this game, due to getting pushed into 4th last weekend, and being only 2 points off Arsenal in 5th. West Brom won their last 2 league games, but I feel their luck has run out, and a Chelsea team full of world class players should comfortably win here. Prediction: 3-0 Everton vs Reading (15:00) Both these teams are fighting for something major this season, the only difference being the end of the table at which the fight is happening.  Everton… more

Saturday 22nd December 2012 Wigan vs Arsenal (12:45) Wigan find themselves in the bottom 3 this weekend, and will be wanting to climb out as soon as possible, to avoid a really tough battle to stay up. Their home performances haven’t been too great and they will be wanting to convert some of their draws to wins, however this game is unlikely to see them get any points. Arsenal have the third best goal difference in the league, compared to Wigan’s 3rd worst, so I can see this game getting messy, much like Arsenal’s game against Reading did on Monday. Prediction: 0-4 Man City vs Reading (15:00) Man City are currently 6 points off of top place, and if they… more

Football

My last set of predictions saw me get again only 4 correct results (one of which was a perfect score), this is poor, but I think it is due to so many upsets, with Chelsea, Arsenal and West Brom all losing. This week I am going to try something new, and predict many more games but not write about each game. Instead I will have a paragraph talking about the league overall. Barclays Premier League 8th December Arsenal 2-1 West Brom Aston Villa 1-1 Stoke Southampton 2-1 Reading Sunderland 0-1 Chelsea Swansea 2-0 Norwich Wigan 0-1 QPR 9th December Man City 2-1 Man Utd Everton 1-1 Tottenham West Ham 1-0 Liverpool 10th December Fulham 1-0 Newcastle 11th December Sunderland 1-0 Reading My… more

Before I go on with this article I just want to say how much I hope Fabrice Muamba pulls through after his cardiac arrest on Saturday during Bolton’s FA cup game against Tottenham. He is an inspiration to the game and is supposedly one of the nicest players around, so there is a lot support for this promising 23-year-old English player. Good luck Fabrice; my thoughts are with you and your family. Here are the results of the last round of premier league games and my predictions for their outcomes: Game Actual Score Prediction Liverpool vs Everton 3-0 2-1 Fulham vs Swansea 0-3 0-1 Wigan vs West Brom 1-1 1-1 Wolves vs Man Utd 0-5 0-3 Newcastle vs Norwich 1-0… more

Premier League

Saturday Newcastle vs Chelsea (12:45) I predicted that Newcastle’s last game against United could be a turning point in their season, especially if United had given them a real beating. As it was, their blend of heroics in defence and a sprinkling of luck was enough to get them a vital point at Old Trafford. I’d still be very surprised if they can maintain their superb start to the season, but it looks as though they’ll have enough quality to easily finish in the top half of the table if not higher. Chelsea haven’t got the firepower that United possess and it’ll be a test of Newcastle’s concentration more than their ability to put bodies on the line. You feel… more

Premier League

Saturday Stoke vs Blackburn (12:45) It’s going to be a really tough Christmas period for Tony Pulis. Stoke are excelling in Europe but their Premier League form is suffering as a result, and they have to maintain their famously strong home form if they are to continue to sit comfortably in mid-table. They conceded soft goals at the Britannia against QPR last weekend to make it three losses on the bounce in all competitions for Pulis’ side. QPR did ride their luck last weekend, but Potters made it far too easy for them. Pulis will be expecting a response from his players but I have a feeling that their poor run of form could continue into the new year. Undoubtedly… more

Premier League

Saturday Norwich v Arsenal (12:45) Norwich have been really impressive at Carrow Road so far this season, but their success in the league this year hasn’t been entirely based on home form. The classic recipe for survival for any team in the Premier League is to pick up points at home and win the games against the teams around them. Anything else is a bonus. Norwich haven’t had the toughest set of fixtures so far but have entertained both home and away and have caused a real problem for the likes of Manchester and Liverpool. They should be fine come the end of the season, provided they keep scoring goals. I’ve been particularly impressed by Pilkington who looks to have… more
